Susan Rogers, Nurse Manager

Susan is compassionate and invests great effort in everything she does. She puts the consumers first, ensuring they have high-quality healthcare (we should all be so lucky). Susan is an excellent leader and teammate, always there when you need her. Her practical, skilled, smart, and humorous perspective helps calm tense situations. She comes in early and stays late, meeting residential staff at their sites to support them with medication delegation in the settings where they will perform the task. She then puts in a full day at CW, too, which may include accompanying people to appointments or visiting people in the hospital to make sure the care team there has accurate information to help the person return to their health baseline. This is in addition to overseeing a busy clinic, assisting her staff with their challenges as well.

She presents health information to the people we support (and their decision makers) in the manner they need to understand the issues so they can make informed decisions. Susan forms supportive relationships with new staff during the medication delegation process, opening positive communication channels for the flow of essential information. She is kind, observant, and interested in others, checking in with people to make sure they are okay and offering her assistance to ease their troubles if she can. Susan has the heart and soul of a true helper, someone looked to and for in difficult times. She does not disappoint. She’s never afraid to be a part of those difficult (yet necessary) health-related conversations and everyone involved benefits from her thoughtfulness and expertise in the end.
