Special Needs Supervisor Position

Cottonwood Inc., a training facility for individuals with disabilities, has a full time position open for a Special Needs Supervisor. Mon.-Fri., 40 hrs/wk.  Starting pay is $9.50 an hour plus benefits. Apply at Cottonwood Inc., 2801 W. 31st.   E.O.E.

Work Enrichment Services Positions Available

Qualifications:  To be considered for any of these positions, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Kansas driver’s license, and be eligible for coverage on Cottonwoods auto insurance. Qualified applicants will need to pass the required back ground checks, drug test and have a good work history.

 *Preference will be given to those who posses, a positive attitude, the ability to work closely with others, experience in this or field, and enthusiasm about supporting adults with developmental disabilities.

   Position title:  Three Full time Supervisors

  Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (40hrs/wk)

  Starting pay: $8.50/hr plus benefits

  General info: Supervisors provide support to persons with developmental disabilities in work, community, and leisure settings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting with personal care, hand over hand assistance while working and participating in various settings, transporting to and from community events, and providing meaningful and fulfilling activities for participants on a daily basis.

Health Support Services Position

Health Support Services currently has an opening for a Clinic Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:  Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed in the State of Kansas (RN). Must have a valid drivers license and a driving record acceptable to Cottonwood’s insurance carrier. Ability to work with our consumers, their families, staff and other community agencies. Must have basic computer literacy. Must have ability to work independently with little supervision.

Responsibilities: Provides skilled assessments and care for Cottonwood consumers when on-site provision of care is in the best interest of the consumer. Provides health and medication related training as appropriate for consumers. Provides health and medication related teaching for unlicensed staff as appropriate. Supervision received from the Health Support Nurse Manager. Supervision given to unlicensed Cottonwood staff as related to delegation of nursing tasks only.

Schedule is M-F 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Competitive salary and benefits package including KPERS.

Work Services Supervisor Position

Job Summary:  The Work Services Supervisor assists the workers in developing work skills and the appropriate behaviors necessary in attaining and maintaining independent employment.  The WSS also has responsibility to assure that each worker has an active Individual Service Plan.  The WSS is responsible for completing appropriate documentation regarding worker’s payroll and their ISP. 

Qualifications:  Must have high school diploma or equivalent.  Experience in working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.  Must have a valid drivers license and a driving record acceptable to Cottonwood’s insurance carrier.  Must have ability to likft and carry as much as 40lbs, and provide physical interactin as trained in managing behavioral issues.  A flexible attitude is essential.
